First and foremost, these two programs represent the youth programs we so needed to get into place and where vision has come to pass. I am happy to say that after 3+ years of team work and shifting strategy, we have successfully built a mentoring/discipling culture with increased adults investing into the children weekly. We have successfully built the youth young men’s program called World Changers and the young ladies program called Genesis Destiny.
Starting in January of 2022 will be the brand new launch of Genesis Destiny (6th-12th) for young ladies on Tuesdays from 3-5 pm. For World Changers it will be year four of our Senior program (9th-12th grade) on Thursdays from 3-5 pm and the brand new launch of our Junior program (6th-8th grade) on Tuesdays from 6-8 pm.
We are successfully graduating children into these older discipleship programs. I WANT TO HIGHLIGHT THAT THESE PROGRAMS ARE EXTREMELY COMMITTED, OBEDIENCE-BASED DISCIPLESHIP PROGRAMS. THEY ARE NOT A CASUAL COME AND GO YOUTH GROUP SETTING. In these programs each disciple has to complete a Bible based exercise breaking down DBS (Discovery Bible Study) each week and how they will respond to what God is teaching them. They have to do physical challenges of running and exercise to build up their mental and physical strength. And then we always end by doing some positive recreation or activities with the disciples.
Because of the new culture, it requires parent meetings, communication, and consent for the children and youth to be involved. This is allowing us to grow trust with Mom, Dad, and/or a guardian to influence them for the gospel and meet more family needs.
